About Us

Atsafack Lab focuses on AI-driven predictive maintenance for hydropower, blending IoT and deep learning.

A hydroelectric dam channels water through a steep concrete structure with teal handrails. The river below is surrounded by rocky terrain and dense trees. The forceful flow of water creates foamy rapids as it descends. In the background, a bridge crosses the river amidst the rugged landscape.
A massive hydroelectric dam spans across a wide river with water flowing from its openings. The foreground features lush green grass and vegetation covering the banks, while a flow of water is seen moving towards the dam structure.

My Journey

My journey into intelligent energy systems began with a strong foundation in computer science and a growing interest in real-world industrial challenges. During my graduate studies, I became increasingly interested in applying machine learning techniques to critical infrastructure systems.

This led me to focus on hydropower plants, where I now develop AI-driven monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions aimed at strengthening sustainable energy infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Background

I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Internet of Things and Machine Learning at the University of Rwanda (ACEIoT). My academic training combines embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and data analytics, with specialization in predictive maintenance for hydropower systems.
